Palm Pre Hands-on in Sprint Store
/Looks like the Sprint employees are letting the Pre out in the wild. I got about 20 minutes of hands-on time with it and it was nice. I disagree a little with Boy Genius's about the cheap feel, but the keyboard is a little cramped. I could see getting used to the keyboard with a some extended usage. Also, the OS version was 1.0.1 and the employee said an update will be out the day of release. Looks good so far, though. Check out your local Sprint store for a hands on.
Sotomayor Pick Brings Out the Worst in Spirit Airlines and Advertising
/The Spirit Airlines ad above is a classical example of racetalk . The advertisement is obviously referring to President Obama's recent Supreme Court pick, Judge Sonia Sotomayor. The advertisement uses the phrase "Justice Ochita Suprema" which is getting at their $8 fares. This is a poor attempt at advertising that has clear racial undertones.

Riding Slickrock in Moab, UT with Jen and Timo...Amazing!
/Well, I have something to cross off my bucketlist. Pictures are below and video is at the end of the post. I rode Slickrock in Moab, UT today and it was my first major mountain bike ride. Roughly, a 10 mile ride up and down rock. I have to admit I walked some, but I rode the rock. Pictures from Jen are forthcoming. A picture is also coming to show that Slickrock is rated a 4 out of 4 on difficulty. Day 2 is at Porcupine Rim...yikes!!! Wish me luck.

T-Mobile G1 Announced and the Data Throughput Slowdown (Updated)
/T-Mobile and Google announced the Android based G1 today. The phone seems very usable yet, the bolded print in the above picture makes me shake my head. The text reads, "If your total data usage in any billing cycle is more than 1GB, your data throughput for the remainder of that cycle may be reduced to 50 kbps or less." Again, we see the term unlimited has underpinnings (link to terms of service) that are not beneficial to the consumer.
Update: It looks as though T-Mobile has listened to the complaints and removed the 1 GB limit. I applaud T-Mobile as long as they stick to their most recent statement.
I Yearbook'd Myself
/Taking a cue from Mike Arrington over at TechCrunch, I decided to hop in the time machine and test out YearbookYourself. It is a fun website that I am sure will be a great moneymaker considering the in yearbook advertisements by malls and clothing companies. Try it out yourself.
